Emeka attended Europrobasket’s European Summer League in June of 2017. He received interest from many teams, but no offers by the end of the camp. Europrobasket staff continued to offer him throughout the season, with numerous teams taking interest but still no offers. 7 months after he completed the summer league, a team in Portugal took interest in Emeka, after Europrobasket offered him to them. Emeka signed a contract with the team in Portugal for the remainder of the season in February 2018.
